One hundred and twenty-five motorcycles riders, from 4-years-old to 55-years old will roar in to the Timonium Fairgrounds to raise awareness and funds for The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Maryland (CFF) during the Kevin McNicholas Memorial Short Track Motorcycle Racing Series.
The Baltimore County Trail Riders Association and Cockeysville Optimist, sponsors of the event, will present a portion of the proceeds to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Maryland to help fi nd a cure for this inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States with about 1,000 new cases diagnosed each year.
“In the 50’s, few children with Cystic Fibrosis lived to attend elementary school,” said Mike Stambaugh, Vice President of the Baltimore County Trail Riders. “Since then, The Foundation has made great strides in research and medical advances to enhance and extend life for many with Cystic Fibrosis into their 30’s and 40’s. We are pleased to use our motorcycle races to help the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation with their race to fi nd a cure.”
